        The Lingshui 17-2 project oil storage platform with a total weight of 53,000 tons built by my country was completed today (29th) in Yantai, Shandong. This is also the world's first 10,000-ton semi-submersible oil storage platform. The platform will be used to develop the Lingshui 17-2 gas field, my country's first 1,500-meter deep-water self-operated large gas field. Its completion marks a new level of my country's deep-water oil and gas field development capabilities and deep-water offshore engineering equipment construction.

        It is reported that the Lingshui 17-2 gas field semi-submersible oil storage platform has both the functions of condensate storage and export. "This operation will combine a lower hull weighing 33,000 tons and a height equivalent to 20 floors, and an upper module weighing about 20,000 tons carrying nearly 200 sets of key oil and gas processing equipment into one. 53,000 tons, which is equivalent to 7 Eiffel Towers." said the general manager of the CNOOC Lingshui 17-2 gas field development project.

        It is understood that the Lingshui 17-2 gas field oil storage platform will be ready to go to Lingshui for installation after the equipment installation and commissioning work is completed. Lingshui 17-2 gas field is 150 kilometers away from Hainan Island, with proven geological reserves of over 100 billion cubic meters. It is my country's first self-operated large-scale deep water gas field. After it is put into production in 2021, it can provide a steady supply of 3 billion cubic meters of gas per year to Guangdong, Hong Kong, Qiong and other places, which can meet a quarter of the residential gas demand in the Greater Bay Area.
